Award Winning Texas Filmmakers Take on Intramural Football Feature Comedy

Andrew Disney helms Ralph Smyth Entertainment’s first narrative feature

AUSTIN, TX, August 8, 2012 - Ralph Smyth Entertainment announces its first narrative feature “Intramural”. Scribed by award winning comedic screenwriter Bradley Jackson, edited/produced by online viral sensation David Ward, and led by distributed producers Russell Wayne Groves and Andrew Lee, “Intramural” is set to be one of Texas’s funniest sports movies. “Searching for Sonny” director Andrew Disney will be at the helm.

A hilarious sendup of inspirational sports movies and replete with epic training montages, over the top motivational speeches and bone crunching tackles, “Intramural” tells an epic tale of a group of 5th year seniors who form an intramural football team in their final year of college before being forced out into the real world. “Intramural” is the GLORIOUS love child of cult classics such as “Wet Hot American Summer” and “Dodgeball”.

Jackson first penned the script as an undergrad at the University of Texas Radio TV Film program. He has gone on to win numerous awards for writing and directing short films, including the $110,000 grand prize winning film “The Man Who Never Cried”. Having also optioned two feature scripts, he is being courted by Hollywood talent managers and agents. Jackson and Disney have since picked the “Intramural” script back up for revisions.

Ralph Smyth Entertainment leads “Intramural” with Groves who produced the recently distributed comedic feature “Austin High” and privately premiered feature documentary “Lord Montagu” screened at the BAFTA Theater in London. Former national TV commercial producer, Lee produced the feature documentary “DMT: The Spirit Molecule” distributed by Gravitas Ventures, sublicensed to Warner Bros Digital. DMT:TSM currently has 178,000+ Facebook fans. Internet sensation Ward has made countless online viral videos culminating in 6,000,000+ views. His award winning editing will be leading the charge in post.

Disney is coming off his award winning recent feature comedy “Searching for Sonny”, starring Jason Dohring, Minka Kelly, Brian McElhaney, Nick Kocher, and Masi Oka. “Sonny” has been in over 30 film festivals with over 15 awards. The film has been picked up by FilmBuff for digital distribtuion and will be in theaters for special limited engagement screenings nationwide from August 7 – September 21, 2012.

With 5,000,000+ students who play Intramural sports annually on over 1,112 campuses, intramural sports have been a mainstay in collegiate recreation.
