David’s Gotye Parody Goes Viral

Ralph Smyth has recently brought together a collection of comedians, actors and filmmakers from Austin, Texas, to launch its new website Humordy. The site, whose YouTube channel has already surpassed 1.3 million views, has comedic videos ranging from sketch to stand-up and just about everything else in-between. Humordy’s first hit video “How to Mow Your Yard on PCP: Do Anything Stoned” has reached over 300,00 views and was such a success, that we created a second installment: “How To Tie a Double Windsor Knot on Crack”.

Since then, Humordy’s videos have only reached larger audiences. David Ward’s latest video, “Some QB That I Used to Know” was posted on NFL.com last week and has since gone viral. The video, which is a song parody of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”, is about an Indianapolis Colts fan and a Denver Broncos fan dealing with the departures of Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning from their team. First posted on the Humordy website, the parody has now been posted online everywhere from The Huffington Post to the Bleacher Report, Yahoo Sports to USAToday, as well as mentioned on Sports Illustrated and tweeted by ESPN sports anchor Adam Schefter.

The song is now available on iTunes!

With the success of the Gotye parody, we at Ralph Smyth have big plans for Humordy in the future. We plan to utilize Humordy as a way to highlight the comedic talent of Austin’s local actors, filmmakers and comedians in not just video, but other avenues of online entertainment. Be sure to LIKE Humordy on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep up with our content.
